The Mobile Police Department is investigating two early morning carjackings Wednesday.

The first incident happened at about 1:50 a.m. in the area of Cottage Hill Road and Sage Avenue, according to police. Officers responded to a robbery complaint.

Police relayed the following account: The victim stated that a male and female followed her in a tan Chevy Malibu. The victim then stated her vehicle, a silver Ford Fusion, was struck from behind. While at a stop light, the victim exited her vehicle to check the damages, and that’s when the male subject exited the Malibu. The subject approached her and placed a gun her head and demanded both occupants’ cell phones. The victim stated she and her passenger both fled on foot as the male subject fired a shot and then fled in her vehicle with the female following him. There were no reported injuries.

The second incident happened at approximately 5:37 a.m., when police respond to the area of Eagle Drive and Raven Drive in reference to a carjacking.

Police said the victim stated that two unknown males approached him and asked him to give them a ride to an unknown location. The victim then stated that the front seat passenger pulled a gun and demanded his wallet, shoes and shirt. The victim was then put out of the vehicle in the area of Cardinal Drive. The subjects fled the location, and there were no reported injuries.
