Concerning new information shows Alabama ranking third in the country for speeding deaths.
The group "Value-Penguin" carried out the study, using data from the Federal Highway Administration.
State trooper Steve Jarrett says he hasn't seen the results but admits, he's not surprised.
"I've seen so many people lose their lives in my 22 years. It's more than I care to see. I've given countless death notifications, I've seen countless lives lost, countless dead bodies, and when you're a trooper you see that stuff," said Sgt. Steve Jarrett.
Jarrett says a major state trooper shortage is partially to blame for the higher number of traffic deaths.
